Thursday Night Swimming

Posted by Magdalena Mis on September 11, 2019 at 4:40 PM Comments comments (0)

Dear Members

At present, we do not have a lot of swimmers attending on a Thursday evening at Worsley ASC as they have been progressing to the next level.

We are therefore able to invite the Nemos and Penguins groups to train on a Thursday night in addition to any other nights you swim. The session runs from 7 pm until 8 pm.

Please note this will be on a temporary basis and we will review this when we require the space again for the Starfish group.

If you are a member of the Nemos group, please come along to any of our Thursday sessions. The cost will be £4 per swimmer for the session.

Many thanks

The Future is coming to Worsley Leisure Cantre

Posted by Magdalena Mis on November 11, 2018 at 4:55 PM Comments comments (0)

Plans for new fitness facilities at Worsley Leisure Centre have been unveiled by Salford City Council to boost health and wellbeing in the city.

The £1.4 million investment includes:

Adding a new first floor to the existing building to house a 295m2 gym with state of the art equipment.

A new multi-purpose studio to replace the current gym on the lower ground floor

Extending the cafe

Creating a new glass visitor entrance and reception area

And, as part of the council's £500,000 investment in expanding library provision across the city, new public access computers will be installed at the centre along with a click, reserve and collect book service open to everyone.

The work is the first major phase of Salford City Council's £35 million investment plan to develop leisure centres across the city which was announced last year. Broughton Leisure Centre, which has been operating for 50 years, was the first to be renovated with the addition of a ladies only gym, a spinning area, improved changing facilities and new gym equipment.

Work on redeveloping the centre will begin in April 2018 and is expected to finish by the end of 2018. Access to the centre's three swimming pools, sauna and steam facilities will not be affected with lessons, aqua classes, events and swim sessions continuing as normal.
